Our Story
The Story Behind Pūraka
Made from knowledge.
Not compromise.
Pūraka means inhale in Sanskrit. Every product in this range is the result of over 20 years of learning, practice, and an unshakeable belief that your skin deserves better.
Where It Begins
Twenty years of practice.
One woman. One range.
My name is Melissa Foreman. I'm a homeopath and naturopath, and I've spent over 20 years helping people — particularly women — find balance through natural medicine. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Homeopathy from the Centre for Homeopathic Education in London, and a Diploma in Naturopathy from the Centre of Naturopathic Medicine. I'm a fully insured member of the Society of Homeopaths, working to their strict code of ethics and best practice.
In that time, I've treated thyroid disorders, hormonal imbalances, PMS, menopause, and everything in between. I've seen what happens when you treat the whole person rather than just the symptom. And I've learned, more than anything, that what you put into your body — and onto it — matters enormously.
Pūraka came from that belief. And from the frustration of not being able to find a skincare range I could actually stand behind.
"After 20 years, I still couldn't find skincare I truly believed in.Melissa Foreman — Founder, Pūraka Skincare
So I made it myself."
Why Pūraka Exists
Because nothing else
was good enough.
Over the years, I became increasingly frustrated with the skincare industry. Products full of synthetic fillers, petrochemicals, and ingredients that served the manufacturer's costs rather than the customer's skin. Brands making bold claims without the knowledge or evidence to back them up.
As a naturopath, I understood what the skin actually needs. As a homeopath, I knew the power of working with the body rather than against it. And as someone who had spent years helping people heal naturally, I couldn't reconcile what I knew with what was being sold.
So after over 7 years of formulating and refining, Pūraka was born. Every product is made by me, in small batches, at home. Every ingredient is there for a reason. Nothing in here is by accident.

The Ingredient That Changes Everything
Homeopathic tissue salts — in every product.
When I began formulating Pūraka, I knew I wanted to include something that no other skincare brand was using. Something that reflected everything I had learned about how the body heals itself.
Tissue salts were developed by Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler in 19th century Germany. They are 12 minerals, prepared homeopathically, that the human body needs to repair and maintain itself at a cellular level.
I have selected specific tissue salts for their skin benefits — some act as a natural skin cleanser, others encourage moisture balance, and others support tissue restoration. The result is skincare that doesn't just sit on the surface of your skin. It works with it.
No other skincare brand incorporates tissue salts. This is Pūraka's single most powerful differentiator — and it's the reason this range exists.
Twelve minerals, prepared homeopathically, selected by Melissa for their specific skin benefits. In every Pūraka product. Found nowhere else in skincare.

What We Stand For
Three principles. No exceptions.
All Natural
Every ingredient has a purpose. Nothing synthetic, no petrochemicals, no animal products. 100% natural, vegan, and cruelty-free. Independently tested by Oxford Labs.
Made With Care
Melissa formulates and makes every product herself in small batches. That level of personal involvement isn't scalable — and that's exactly the point.
Sustainable Packaging
Amber glass bottles and jars. Recyclable, reusable, and a reflection of the brand's values from the outside in. Because what surrounds your skincare matters too.
From Our Customers
Real results. Real people.
"When I turned 50 I began to experience dry skin and changes that come with it — peeling foundation, flaking around my nose, and more wrinkles. I needed a cream that would hydrate my skin, as the sun damage and deeper lines around my mouth really needed moisture. Anti-ageing products I've tried before have left my skin dry. This cream moisturises and plumps up my skin and the wrinkles become less defined. I started getting compliments on my skin, about the texture, smoothness, and radiance! I've just ordered the Active Day Cream and Face Serum Oil. Looking forward to trying these! I would definitely recommend this product."MR — Los Angeles, California
